Little Things

DSC04669_edited-1

Just a few little things today--random thoughts on random pages to share…

Ah, letter writing.  It’s a rather vanishing form of communication, isn’t it?  So sad to me…and yet I’m quick to just dash off an email letter, myself.

Maybe this year I’ll put pen in hand more often with a stack of beautiful paper in front of me and write to those I love…that would  be a very good thing.

Listening to that quiet voice inside of you.  Seems like just a little thing, but it’s one of the most important things we can do…you rarely go wrong when you listen to your heart.

And last but not least, a few wishes hidden away for the New Year.  Some hopes and wishes I’ll keep just for me.  My beautiful Victorian friend here is very good at keeping secrets…

Wishing you lovely days ahead full of all the most beautiful “little things” life has to offer--funny how they often become the big things if we let them….

See you soon with something new.

Being Happy

DSC04655_edited-1

I’m chuckling a little bit to myself as I post these pages today--I’m realizing they might seem a bit contradictory…you’ll see.

DSC04637_edited-1

“We are what we repeatedly do”, said Aristotle.  True words.  They can apply to anything and everything we do.  I chose to pair them with being a queen.  We all need to feel like a queen sometimes, don’t we?

Well, there’s that.

Then we go to the opposite side of things:

Not the honesty part—that applies to both—it’s the simplicity part that’s making me chuckle this morning.

Being happy with the sweet and simple things in life vs. wanting to be the Queen.

But sometimes you just SIMPLY have to be the Queen.

And be happy with it.

See you soon with something new…

A Brand New Year

DSC04625_edited-1

My goodness.  2014.  The years do fly by, don’t they?!

I thought I’d jump into the new year by sharing a few things I’ve been working on in the rare quiet holiday hours since we last talked…

DSC04618_edited-1 {this is a BIG one!}

Did you make any resolutions for the new year?

I didn’t, really—except the promise to myself to take more time out for creating this year—I’m finding I really need it!

DSC04623_edited-1 {this page is to remind myself to create “outside the box” this year—I was about to cut off the off-the-page portion of her skirt—then found I just didn’t want to!}

Here’s my first page in my brand new journal for my brand new year—a beautiful vintage calendar remade for January 2014—just perfect for the vintage girl in me!   {thank-you, Crafty Secrets!}

And a layout I’ve been thinking of doing for a long time finally found it’s way onto paper…

Since the pages explain it all, I won’t make you read it twice!

DSC04610_edited-1

I’m all about feeling connected—to my past, present and future.  Always have been.  Always will be…….

DSC04613_edited-1

…but I have to admit to feeling a little “unconnected” to those fabulous 1970’s hairstyles!

Here’s wishing you a very happy and very creative year!
