Birthday Dreams…

Hello, my friends!

Here we are…another week almost over…where does the time go?! 

I’m so sorry I’ve been a horrible visitor the last couple of weeks…so much going on over here…it will slow down soon & I’ll get back to “normal”…I’ve missed visiting you all!

But today I need to stop for a minute and wish a very Happy Birthday to sweet daughter #2…my dear Sarah Rose…

You’ve grown from such a cute little pumpkin…(oh, my…where do the years go?)

…to a spunky schoolgirl…(doesn’t she look like a red-headed Laura from “Little House on the Prairie” here?!)…

…happy and so fun-loving…

…creative and clever…she loves learning everything she can and dreams of designing and making all her own clothing someday…

…my little mermaid…

…my VERY free spirit!

A little birthday card made today for my girl…

…a sweet, whimsical Victorian image from Crafty Secrets’ “Little Dolls” Images & Journal Notes booklet…filled with vintage images that are just perfect for your little—and not so little—girls…

“May all your birthday dreams come true”, it says…

…a bow made of twine with a vintage mother-of-pearl button…

Just a Little Whimsy…

 

Hello, dear friends!

Just a few things to share with you today…first of all…take a look at this beautiful early morning sunrise…

 

…what a wonderful way to start the day!

I’ve been working on some projects for Crafty Secrets’ new releases coming up…here’s a little peak--

Aren’t those wonderful?!  Beautiful, whimsical flowers, The Wizard of Oz, and Alice and Wonderland—fun, huh?

Here’s what I’ve got so far:

How about some ruby slippers?  “It’s all about the shoes”, it says…

…not much to tell you about this one.  I wanted to keep it simple…just focusing on the shoes.  Glossed them up with some glassy glaze and added just a bit of fine iridescent glitter…

Next:

Tea with Alice!

 

A fun little collage wall hanging—I wanted it to represent a window into Wonderland…

All the elements here are from the soon-to-be-released Alice in Wonderland Creative Scraps—love them! 

And the pretty frame and “TEA” are stamps from the new coordinating stamp set.

The White Rabbit…

A pretty teacup and the “Drink Me” bottle, both sitting on a pretty lace doily…

And I had to add some red roses, of course!  Lovely, VERY shabby red velvet rosettes…

And a framing of topsy-turvy teacups from the stamp set.  I’m not a big colorer (is that a word?!), but I wanted to use them here to show that stamps make a wonderful background, too—no coloring necessary!

I’ll have more new product to show you soon—so much still to come!

Life’s so much more fun when you add a little whimsy, isn’t it?!

Thoughts of Spring…

Hello, my friends!

You see that beautiful rainbow? This was what we saw in our backyard a couple of days ago…How could I not have thoughts of Spring with that going on?! 

Ahhhhh…winter in California…(sorry!)

With that in mind, I made a couple of Springy projects yesterday, and had so much fun with them!

First off…

…a little  card, just for fun…in colors of deep apricot and chocolate brown…with a beautiful new (to me) paper collection called “Grandma’s Attic Collectibles” from TPC Studio…love it!

A sweet image from Crafty Secrets’ “Birds & Blossoms” Creative Scraps…touched with just a bit of fine iridescent  glitter.

And a doily fan…very simply to make…a few pleats here and there…grunge it up, add a bit of Iridescent Glimmer Mist, and that’s it!  I added some old peachy gauze and a few paper roses, which were tinted with Glimmer Mist.

“Believe in Yourself”…not a bad idea!

Next…

This was originally going to just be a card…but I kept adding things…having fun…feeling all springy…and this happened!

I used images from Crafty Secrets’ “Altered Fairy” Creative Scraps, and just kept cutting, layering and popping things up…it’s so fun to just get carried away once in a while!

And my favorite part—I decided to use this frame from Vicki Chrisman’s fabulous portrait shadowbox card die…so fun to use and available through Crafty Secrets…

 

As I was working on this, I kept thinking of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”…everything green and flowery…and fairyish!  The beautiful new “Once Upon a Springtime” collection from Graphic 45 sure made went along with my theme beautifully…

And if it wasn’t flowery enough…a couple of bright & fabulous Prima flowers on the frame…

 

I used Tim Holtz’ Crackle Paint in Shutter Green on the frame, then rubbed in a little “Vintage Photo” Distress ink…very shabby!
