Good evening, everyone!
Hope you're in the middle of a wonderful weekend--and I hope my friends back East are all staying warm and cozy inside!
I have a couple of 3D shadowbox cards to share with you tonight...these were a huge hit at CHA--the brilliant creation of Vicki Chrisman--these cards are SO much fun to play with! There's no end of things you can do with them! I've got lots of plans for them with old family photos, more vintage images....you name it!
For this one, I used a combination of Crafty Secrets' new "Altered Fairy" Creative Scraps and "Birds & Botanicals" Images & Journal Notes booklet.
Sweet little children have tea in bird nests all the time, don't they?!
I put some Clear Crackle Paint on the egg...and lots of fine diamond glitter, of course!
This one was lots of fun...I just kind of couldn't stop adding more and more stuff!
These images are all from the "Altered Fairies" scraps, "Childhood" Images & Journal Notes and the "Wild & Wacky" booklet, which is no longer available.
Always wish big!
I just love this little sweetie popping out of the envelope!
I took another picture of it on my piano so you could see how well they stand on their own--such a fabulous design!
That's it for tonight! Hope you have a safe and wonderful weekend!
These are so cute. I wanted to tell you thank you too. You motivated me, by all the beautiful things you make on your blog, and I took a big picture over our bed and changed it, covered it with vintage looking scrapbook paper, embellished it, and have a brand new (old) look. I love it. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteOh Julie, I am just blown away by your creative talents!! Oh wow! You never cease to amaze me with your wonderful eye for things like this. It is truly such a special talent you have! How very beautiful these cards of yours are!! What ever do you do with them when they are done? Surely you should sell them as they are complete and total works of art in and of themselves. I do cherish the Christmas card I got from you so very much. It seems we both had birds on our artistic minds this weekend for I did a bluebird yesterday as well! They do say that Great Minds Think Alike! So we must both be great minds! I send lots of love and hugs your way, and wishes for a blessed Sabbath tomorrow! xxoo

Oh Julie, I know you've been back for a while but I haven't dropped by to say hello. I hope that you had a wonderful time. I've just spent the most wonderful few minutes skulking around your blog and getting caught up on your activities. I'm entranced by these shadowbox cards. Do you purchase the actual blank cards or do you make them? Yours are deliciously full of detail sprinkled with your own style that I so adore. What a talent.
