Something HALLOWEENY This Way Comes!

DSC00164_edited-1

BOO!  Okay…it’s a little early for Halloween…but not really, when you’re talking about crafting, right?!

So, in the spirit of early Halloween creating, a few fun projects to share with you today…

Here’s a fabulous old bottle I found junkin’ this summer…love all the opalescent color!  I didn’t want to do too much to alter it—wanted to let the beauty of the bottle shine, so just a simple label & a bit of gingham ribbon…

Isn’t that label wonderful?!  All my projects today were done using two new Halloween-themed stamp sets from Crafty Secrets:

…and “Jolly Halloween”…

Fun, huh?!

Here’s another great vintage bottle put to good use…

I didn’t want to do too much to the labels, either—the graphics are so wonderful, I just wanted them to take center stage…not a bunch of coloring, etc.  This one just screamed gold ink on black to me…

…and the bottle neck was just perfect for winding a bunch of stained black & white baker’s twine around & topping off with a bit of gold sealing wax—complete with embossed crown…love it!

And a couple of little gift cards—just perfect to accompany those yummy little treats you know you’ll be making for your favorite ghoul-friends {tee hee!}…

I LOVE this silhouetted image…and on the inside…

…a beautifully scripted Halloween greeting, complete with flourishes from the “Jolly Halloween” set.

And my favorite:

I don’t know what it is about vintage moon faces, but I ADORE them!  I was so excited to see this in the “Halloween Labels” set!  A bit of layering with different colored cardstock (my favorite way to add color & dimension with stamps!), a bit of sparkle, and that’s it!

Hope you’re  getting excited about the start of fall—it’s not too very far away, you know!

See you soon with something new…

Vintage Fun

Hello, my friends!

Just a couple of vintage-style cards to share with you today…

First of all, a card with a bit of farmer's market/county fair flair to it...I loved the colors of the beautiful paper, and the country-style vintage accents from Vintage Street Market were so much fun to use!

And the women in this fabulous vintage photo? Two of my great-grandmothers!  They lived near each other in a small, western town in the early part of the last century, and were best friends since they were teenagers...wasn't it wonderful of their kids to marry each other?!

A fun little card to send to a creative friend...a bit of pink twine at the top serves as a “garland” & the paper doll & vintage style items from Vintage Street Market add the vintage POP I was looking for…

But my favorite thing of all?  The vintage pin strip!  As soon as I saw it I knew it needed to be a border for something—isn’t it fabulous?!?!?

See you soon with something new…

Julie
