Hello, Dolly!

DSC07077_edited-1

I really don’t know how long it’s been since I’ve made a couple of cards…just for fun!

I’m absolutely in love with vintage German china dolls…and these images make me SO happy!

Isn’t she fabulous?!?!?

Lots of paper layers for depth & texture…some luscious seam binding to tie it all together…

DSC07075_edited-1 {“vintage” pin from the oh, so fabulous Tim Holtz collection}

…some very vintage, velvety millinery flowers with a brass pin tucked in…”vintage”, it says…

…a tucked-behind doily (my daughter says it makes her look like Queen Elizabeth!), a couple of vintage mother-of-pearl buttons, and everything very liberally spritzed with a coppery hue of Glimmer Mist…and that’s about it!

And oh, my goodness…just look at this little cutie!

What is it about these googly-eyed dollies that sets my heart a-flutter?  I don’t know, but they certainly do!

One single little aqua millinery flower graces her pretty blonde hair…simple…

I just made some little patterns for her outfit myself—glad they turned out okay—definitely nothing fancy! I used paper from Crafty Secrets’ “Creating with Vintage Patterns” for this, too…easy peasy!

Well, that’s about it for me…so glad you stopped by today!

For our next visit, I’m taking you window shopping in beautiful Carmel-by-the-Sea with me…hope you can come along!

Silvery Spoons

DSC07046_edited-1

Hello, my friends!

Just a little bit of  playing with my vintage silverware stash this last week—had so much fun with these!

One of my old, chippy & much mended estate sale teapots graciously stands in to prop up my spoons today…

First, a little Alice in Wonderland…

…a bit of a Mad Hatter tea party going on with this one…

…a very liberal “sugar” coating of chunky, clear German glass glitter…I LOVE this stuff!

DSC07027_edited-1 {don’t you just love the detail on these old silver pieces?}

My very own jewel made with glassy glaze & some lovely aqua glitter on top of an old bronzy button…

…a few Alice inspired items top it off—a key, of course—“Journey”, it says…perfect for Alice’s fall down the rabbit hole, don’t you think?!

A “Drink Me” tag and a couple of pretty glass beads finish it off…

…and I just couldn’t leave this fabulous pocket watch out of the mix, of course!

And next…

…a bit more sophistication with this one…vintage fashion in a spoon…why not?!

These lovely ladies are sporting the height of fashion from the 1930’s…beautiful!

A few charming charms grace this spoon…a gorgeous vintage button and a brass ruler sit atop a jeweled bezel surrounded by Platinum Stickles…

And that’s about it…I don’t think I’ll EVER be able to pass by a pile of old silver flatware again!  I’ve got some fun knives in the works that I’ll share with you soon…

So glad you stopped by!  Hope your day is beautiful in every way…
