A little bit of playing for me this week…
…a wistful looking back to the beginnings of my learning years…do you remember first learning your ABCs?
Apples, arrows & angels with sparkly wings…
…and the man in the moon, of course…
Favorite vintage images fill the pages of my little book…the pages of which are found on “Creating with Vintage Typography”—Crafty Secrets’ newest CD--all ready and waiting just to be put together by you…
Have you ever seen a sweeter queen than this one?
A little gilding on the edges of each page, as we often see on old books. Its not perfect, mind you—I wanted it to look a little aged and tattered, like it had felt generations of little hands opening its pages instead of just only mine…
“Now I know my ABCs”…remember feeling so proud of yourself when you could recite them all in your childish sing-song voice?
I do.
Wishing you a beautiful day of remembering…
Julie
What a beautiful little book Julie! I love the gilt edges. I can remember feeling so proud of myself when I first learned my abc's!! I felt it was quite an accomplishment until I learned to spell my last name, which was VILLENEUVE! Once I had learned that I felt anything was possible. The world was my oyster! Love and hugs to you on a cool almost September morning! xxoo
ReplyDeleteI love that alphabet book, Julie! It truly looks like it could have been used by many generations. So beautiful! Wishing you all the best, Tammy

ReplyDeleteI love the moon face!
ReplyDeleteJulie, would love to print up for my youngest grandchild. I think she will love it, know I do. Question though, when you inserted the graphics, did you enlarge to fit one on a piece of cardstock or did you do with four on a sheet, which to my calculations is only about a 3 inch book.
ReplyDeleteEither way I will create it and love it and THANK YOU FOR YOUR DESIGN AND IDEA
Lauren
Hi Lauren--thanks! On the CD, the images are four on a sheet, so that's how I printed them. I enlarged them just a bit, but you're right--the book is approx. 3" square. Glad you like it--and thanks again for your kind words!
