Good morning, my friends!
A cold and gloomy day here on the California coast…about as close to winter as we get here!
The house is quiet…Christmas tree lights are glowing, carols in the air…a perfect day….
I have a couple of cards to share with you today…just a little bit of Christmas…
First…a beautiful vintage image from Crafty Secrets’ “Christmas” Images & Journal Notes booklet…and of course, I just had to pop up the birdies…
…and the snowy bits on the image just really needed some additional “snow” courtesy of my new “Snow Writer” from Michaels (with some iridescent glitter added, of course!)
…and it’s always a wonderful thing when you scuffle around in your vintage button bowl and find three of the same size, same color buttons in the perfect shade of red…
Next…
…something more on the heavenly side…a beautiful Victorian angel, also from Crafty Secrets’ “Christmas” Images & Journal Notes booklet…
…and once again, I was in a pop-it-up mood…I also added some Crackle Accents to the image to give it more of the look of an old painting…
I thought I’d share a couple of pictures of my three daughters from a Christmas Eve back in 1999…
I love these sweet images…
…and the best part? They are still this cuddly and loving with each other, even though they’re now in college and high school…I’m so grateful.
And last, two vintage postcards to share with you…
…this one from 1933…
…and this lovely Nativity from the late 1920’s…both so beautiful…
I hope your day is just wonderful, and that you’re enjoying every moment of preparing your homes and your hearts for this most special season.
See you soon with something new…
Julie

Hi Julie, just taking a break here from preparing the food for the Primary Activity we are having tomorrow and I saw this pop up! Oh I do love these newest cards, especially the bird one! I have a thing for birds, especially tiny ones like chickadees"! Sadly we don't have Chickadees over here although we do have Tits which are quite similar. Your birds look just like them! Love your girls also. You are so blessed to have such a lovely family, but then you already know that. I am sure your holidays will be wonderful and noisy and filled with joy! Love and hugs from a much milder (today) UK! xxoo

Oh Julie, it looks as though you are looking into the card with birds. The blue is just wonderful with your silver touch! I wanted to let you know that you have heard my voice when you placed orders with GBP. I was often the voice for the "phone specials"! Soft and sing songy, very goosy! Thank you so much for your lovely comment on their blog. Truly a coming full circle moment for my life. What a rewarding experience! Have a wintry weekend! Elizabeth

Hey Julie, ironically, they said we might get rain yesterday but it didn't happen. Today is quite humid and warm because the rain didn't come. Hubby and I walked this evening and his back was drenched when we got home. :/
ReplyDeleteYour cards are always so beautiful. I just glue a bunch of stuff together and hope it looks good. :)
I see you've been baking too. I didn't even get to the sugar cookies. Only one batch of Mexican Wedding cookies. Tomorrow, sugar cookies, peanut butter cookies and a brownie cookie recipe I'm trying for the first time. Hope they are good. Have a super Sunday. Best wishes, Tammy
Oh what beautiful cards!!! And children!!! Indeed, they grow too fast, don't they? I love those precious birdies on your card too!!! and the adorable buttons!
