A Little Vintage Christmas…

DSC05575_edited-1

Good afternoon, my friends!

What a rainy, gloomy day here on the central California coast!  (I love it!)  How’s the weather where you are?

This kind of day makes it feel like Christmas is just around the bend, and I’ve been trying to get a bit of a jump on it with a couple of projects…

First:

A fun chipboard wall hanging…the chipboard piece from Crafty Secrets, as well as all the beautifully vintage Christmas images…

…from both the new “Christmas” Creative Scraps and the “Christmas” Images & Journal Notes booklet…love that collage piece in the background!  A lovely peppermint stripe print from Graphic 45’s Christmas Past collection…

…this little sweetie was cut out and popped up, of course!

Some lovely red vintage buttons, a single jingle bell, holly flowers, ribbon, lace, a bit of sparkle thanks to Dazzling Diamonds, platinum Stickles & some “Iridescent Gold” Glimmer Mist, and that’s about it!

Next, a completely different color scheme…

Cool grey, silver, pink & white…and a lovely Victorian angel from Crafty Secrets’ “Christmas” Images & Journal Notes booklet…

I decided to carry on the arched look from the image and used a corner rounder punch for the different layers of the card…

…sparkling falling snow, thanks to a little Dazzling Diamonds…

…and some different sized sparkly snowflakes, all glitzed up with lots and lots of clear, chunky German glass glitter.  A vintage pink button and some lovely Swarovski crystals finish them off…

I hope you all have the loveliest of weekends!

See you soon with something new…

  10. Hi Julie, all your cards are always so beautiful whatever the season. I can't even think about Christmas right now. Just got caught up on many of your recent posts. Love all the old photos of your family and that sweet tea set. A friend here had a gathering one time and as everyone went home, she gave us all a loaf of Amish Friendship Bread. Such a great gift indeed. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. :) Tammy

  17. Hi Julie!
I've been loving the rain in California and am sorry to see it going. It's supposed to be back in the high 70's and low 80's next week.

I just love the projects. What fun! The little girl image in the first one is so beautiful. I would have been so inspired making that piece. It's gorgeous!

    Thanks for sharing.
    Cheers,

  18. hey Julie, YOu had expressed an interest in doing the crown challenge that I had posted about. was wondering if youre still interested. I sort of dropped the ball on it but still want to follow through. There were 6 girls that responded. Im going to hold off posting pics until friday the 29th. Would love it if you were still interested and wanted to make one too! I'm going to make another one during the week. Also it could be a witches hat if not a crown. Let me know.. K?

  19. Oh, Julie,
You just did it again! I am always so tickled by what you do with one little (but very cute) Craft Secrets picture. You just seem to wind your magic around them to the point that I want to go buy all the Craft Secret images so I can do the same. But do you know what? I could not do the same because you are the queen of wonderful cards, my dear, and you just keep producing them all the time...always adorable, always full of charm. So I will dream my dreams while looking at your lovely pictures!
    Big hugs,
    Suz
