Moxie

DSC03341_edited-1

I’ve always loved the word “moxie”…not sure why.  I just have.  It’s a cute word.  With--well, moxie!

According to Webster’s, it means:

“knowledge gained by actually doing or living through something…(the) strength of mind to carry on in spite of danger”

I like that.

I think quiet strength is no less strength.  Sometimes it’s in those quiet moments that we make the hardest choices.  Moxie.

The guts to not only wish for something to happen, but the strength to make it happen.

Moxie.

And nothing says moxie to me like a vintage Wild West girl!  You’ve seen them in my journals before, and you’ll see them again—I love those girls…

Absolutely full of moxie!

See you soon with something new.

  3. I love that word, too and half the time I still want to be a cowgirl when I grow up! Beautiful art! Happy Mother's day!

  4. I am a huge fan of vintage cowgirls, and yours is delightful. I think that Moxie describes her beautifully. She looks like a gal with spunk :)
    Happy Mother's Day,

  5. I remember my parents using the word 'moxie' quite a bit and always assumed it was popular in the 1930's and 40's in the New York Area, if not elsewhere. Your collages work with it beautifully.
