Hello, my friends!
A fun little project to share with you today, inspired by my beautiful mother…and some really fun new products I was able to play with this week!
A fabulous album from Maya Road—in the shape of a purse—complete with handle & everything!
I covered it with some scrumptious aqua foil from Vintage Street Market’s “Dimestore Vogue” Paper Sheets & Tags kit…
…topped it off with a beautiful Maya Road rhinestone-encrusted chocolatey brown flower…
…then covered the pages with a variety of adorable papers from Vintage Street Market’s new “Family Fun” kit…
…I really had fun with this!
I decided to fill it with pictures of my mother, Karen…such lovely portraits taken of her all throughout her life, it was easy as pie to put this together!
{vintage buttons,ribbons & trims…on each page…}
As I was working on it, I thought of how quickly the years pass by…turning adorable, chubby little girls into beautiful, capable young women…
…the years really DO fly by, don’t they?
{a bit of “Linen” cellophane tape for more of a vintage scrapbook look}
Scrapbooks like this don’t have to take a long time to put together…this one literally took me two days—start to finish! When you’ve got the good stuff to work with, it’s easy peasy, my friends!
And Mom—thanks for always inspiring me…every single day…I love you.
See you soon with something new…
Julie
Just a beautiful album using your Mom's lovely images. Very nice job I'm sure this will be a family treasurer.

Julie this is absolutely gorgeous! I've never seen anything like this before...I love it. What a great project for a gift to a daughter. I have two girls who are all grown up that I know would LOVE a keepsake like this. Well I need to start going through my pictures....thanks for showing this. Have a great day!

I bet your Mum will absolutely love this Julie and what a fabulous way to present some very special photos! You've made a great job of it and I'm sure it will be treasured.
ReplyDeleteHow very lovely, what an amazing job you did, too! I love that aqua foil. I made purse "journals" for a few young ladies a couple of years ago, but I had to buy the handles apart from the journal. I used the sets you can buy to make your own purses and hand cut the different, unique shapes of the purses by hand. If you're interested, I can send you some images of the ones I did.

What a great album! The foil and flower make it look like and actual fancy purse!
ReplyDeleteThat foil paper is really cool. Yes, when you do have the good stuff to work with it is easy, but you would make anything look easy. You do such a fabulous job on all your projects. How nice you could do such a sweet album of your Mother's pictures.
ReplyDeleteDearest Julie,
ReplyDeleteThat purse turned out fabulous! Great project.
Love to you,
Mariette
Hi Julie, that is a great project, and I love all the photos of your mom throughout the years. That chubby baby picture with curly hair and pink dress, so precious! I don't have any pictures of my mom from when she was a baby -- only a few of her as a little girl. You are right -- when you have the right supplies, it is easy to put together ... and time does fly! Have a fabulous Friday. Tammy
ReplyDeleteHi Julie,
ReplyDeleteHow very creative...love all the photographs of your Mom through the years. Funny, she always had her hair perfectly coiffed for her photo shoots. I enjoyed looking at the different hairstyles...such fun!
That "Dimestore Vogue" blue paper is fantastic. Looks like something I would have seen decorating store displays from the 1960's, like maybe Woolworth's. Love it!
