Vintage Vogue

DSC03137_edited-1

Hello, my friends!

Well…haven’t we had some fun with Blogger the last couple of days?!  It was sad not to be able to visit properly and leave comments on all your beautiful posts…I’ll be catching up today!

Just a little vintage sewing fun to share with you today…

A card made yesterday using Vintage Street Market’s “Dimestore Vogue” Paper Sheets & Tags kit

Dimestore Vogue

I just LOVE using this kit—so many wonderfully vintage elements to use!

Everything I used comes from their “Dimestore Vogue” kit, as well as their “Vintage Easter” kit… in the “Dimestore Vogue” kit, you’ll find wonderful things—very unique to them—like a HUGE sheet of aqua foil and another HUGE sheet of yummy brown crepe paper—both of which I’ve used here…

Vintage Street Market also carries a wide variety of colors of Baker’s Twine—so fun to use!  Here I used “Cappuccino” …so pretty!

I finished it off with a retro acrylic star, topped off with a multi-layered felt flower, and a “button” from the kit’s tag sheet…everything is, of course, touched with a bit of my favorite “Platinum” Stickles, which is also available from Vintage Street Market…

A bit more vintage sewing fun from my recent finds…

…a fabulously Forties “Sewing Club” needle kit…don’t you just love these???

And one of my favorite new obsessions…

DSC03122_edited-1

….these amazing plastic slide buckles…the ones you often see on the dresses of the '40’s and ‘50’s…fabulous!

Just look at all the detail on these little gems!  Amazing how much love they put into seemingly ordinary, everyday items back then…

Aaaaah….vintage love!

Got any vintage crafting on the agenda today?  Have fun!

See you soon with something new…

  8. Oh I love your tag and I have been tempted to buy that kit myself. The belt buckles are fabulous. I'm curious can you tell me how you make those felt flowers? Do you punch them out or cut with scissors? I've tried to punch but my punches are only for paper.

    Brings me back
    to the days when
    my mom sewed for
    me....The excitement
    of going to the
    fabric store to pick
    out the pattern and
    the fabric....!

  20. Great tag, however I don't see where you used the foil.......I'm old, I need things pointed out sometimes! Your buckles are amazing. I'm currently working on a swap with Lindsey of "Two Crazy Crafters." We're doing a tag, an ATC and a small wall hanging based on vintage summer. We'll probably be posting about them after the first of next month......or whenever we get them done. I can't wait to hear from you about your sculpture......I'm praying hard that it arrives intact.

    Love ya'

  22. Love the card!
I purchased this set also but haven't made anything yet. The only thing I didn't love about it was that I had to cut the paper into 12x12 sheets. Sometimes it's worth it to do a little extra work, as the images are super cool and retro!
