Vintage Vogue

Hello, my friends!

Well…haven’t we had some fun with Blogger the last couple of days?!  It was sad not to be able to visit properly and leave comments on all your beautiful posts…I’ll be catching up today!

Just a little vintage sewing fun to share with you today…

A card made yesterday using Vintage Street Market’s “Dimestore Vogue” Paper Sheets & Tags kit

Dimestore Vogue

I just LOVE using this kit—so many wonderfully vintage elements to use!

Everything I used comes from their “Dimestore Vogue” kit, as well as their “Vintage Easter” kit… in the “Dimestore Vogue” kit, you’ll find wonderful things—very unique to them—like a HUGE sheet of aqua foil and another HUGE sheet of yummy brown crepe paper—both of which I’ve used here…

Vintage Street Market also carries a wide variety of colors of Baker’s Twine—so fun to use!  Here I used “Cappuccino” …so pretty!

I finished it off with a retro acrylic star, topped off with a multi-layered felt flower, and a “button” from the kit’s tag sheet…everything is, of course, touched with a bit of my favorite “Platinum” Stickles, which is also available from Vintage Street Market…

A bit more vintage sewing fun from my recent finds…

…a fabulously Forties “Sewing Club” needle kit…don’t you just love these???

And one of my favorite new obsessions…

….these amazing plastic slide buckles…the ones you often see on the dresses of the '40’s and ‘50’s…fabulous!

Just look at all the detail on these little gems!  Amazing how much love they put into seemingly ordinary, everyday items back then…

Aaaaah….vintage love!

Got any vintage crafting on the agenda today?  Have fun!

See you soon with something new…

  1. I wish I was talented in this direction! What beautiful cards, I particularly love the blue felt flower, you are clever!

  3. You've created another fantastic retro card, dear Julie! The buckles are great. I could well imagine them as eye catchers on retro aprons.

  6. Dear Julie- a new beautiful card- -I don`t know how you do ,-but you alwayes have the most fantastic mix of colors, that all together makes the most wonderful results.
And I love the great buckles- they are really beautiful ,many of them.

  7. Just beautiful! Sewing pattern girls always make for striking cards! Ohh, I must start looking for those little buckles! How cute!

  8. Oh I love your tag and I have been tempted to buy that kit myself. The belt buckles are fabulous. I'm curious can you tell me how you make those felt flowers? Do you punch them out or cut with scissors? I've tried to punch but my punches are only for paper.

  9. This looks wonderful, I love this era. I wonder what you will use those buckles for? Have fun

    Love Dawn xx

  10. Oooh! I like those buckles! Have fun today! Twyla

  13. So sweet, indeed!
    Brings me back
    to the days when
    my mom sewed for
    me....The excitement
    of going to the
    fabric store to pick
    out the pattern and
    the fabric....!
    Yes, Blogger was a
    big bummer these last
    few days. Hope your
    weekend is off to a
    great start!
    xx Suzanne

  14. Fun card - love this color combo and all the details!

  15. (Crazy Blogger!) Love your adorable projects. Loved the post about all your Mother's. So lucky to have all those pictures. You have some adorable ancestors for sure. Mimi

  16. Love that set of papers and embellishments to play with. I'm feeling like my creative side is dragging of late. And cleaning is a must at the moment. Have a great weekend. Tammy

  17. Love what you did with this paper pack, and your vintage buckles are too wonderful!
    enJOY a lovely weekend,

  18. Oh wow, Julie, I LOVE this post--I love everything from that era--and those belt buckles--amazing!!! Your card is gorgeous--Do you ever make anything that is not sheer perfection?

I'm glad blogger is back up--but here's the funny part--It never dawned on me that we could lose our posts!!! I'm happy we didn't!

Have a wonderful weekend, my friend.

  19. Drooling over this one. Such a cute card. I love using new and old together. Thanks for sharing...smiles...Renee

  20. Great tag, however I don't see where you used the foil.......I'm old, I need things pointed out sometimes! Your buckles are amazing. I'm currently working on a swap with Lindsey of "Two Crazy Crafters." We're doing a tag, an ATC and a small wall hanging based on vintage summer. We'll probably be posting about them after the first of next month......or whenever we get them done. I can't wait to hear from you about your sculpture......I'm praying hard that it arrives intact.

    Love ya'

  21. hi Julie.

looks like fun! makes me wwant to get creative :)

    have a great weekend !

  22. Love the card!
I purchased this set also but haven't made anything yet. The only thing I didn't love about it was that I had to cut the paper into 12x12 sheets. Sometimes it's worth it to do a little extra work, as the images are super cool and retro!
