Hello, my friends!
Another cold & rainy day here on the central coast of California…I LOVE storms like this…we don’t get them very often!
Just one project to share with you today using some of my favorite things…a 3D Shadowbox card…
…the brilliant design of Vicki Chrisman (available through Crafty Secrets), and their new “Farm Fresh” Creative Scraps…
Here’s what I came up with:
These Shadowbox cards are SO much fun to work with! Just chose a theme…start laying it all out, and go!
Here’s the far left panel…”Farm girl at heart”, it says…so sweet! A grunged-up paper doily, a little tuft of blush-colored vintage netting, a trio of vintage mother-of-pearl buttons, and that’s about it!
I LOVE this center panel! (Sorry it’s so shadowy!) A sassy farm girl is the focal point, with a “Farm Fresh” banner stamp from the new “Farm Chicks” stamp set to top it off…
…I then took a milk bottle “lid” from the Creative Scraps…
…put it in an old bottle cap and filled it with Glassy Glaze…
…the “cornstalk”—a small bunch of raffia…gathered together with twine, with “The Simple Life” tag from the Creative Scraps tied around it.
And finally, the far right panel…another delightful image from the Creative Scraps…another grunged-up paper doily, a netting rosette from Prima, (which just happened to match my vintage netting!), and a “Fields & Farm” label from the set to finish it off.
Hope your day is wonderful!
See you soon with something new…
Julie
Hey Julie! I just saw on my Dashboard that you won't Cindy's OWOH giveaway. Congrats! We had a hazy day here! I've been inside all day long crocheting the day away. Haven't accomplished much else. I haven't done paper crafting in some time. Your cards are always lovely. Happy day to you! Tammy

Julie,
ReplyDeleteIf only you lived here! I just spent a bundle on Crafty Secrets and hardly know what to do with them except that I know I love what you do with them! I hope I can come up with something fun...anyway...I know I will have lots of fun with them. When are the CD's coming out? That sounds wonderful!
I am so touched by your prayers and thoughts for Jud and me. It has been one of the hardest times I have ever imagined. He is my kindred spirit and the love of my life. I cannot explain to you how much it helps to know that people I have come to know through my blog are supporting me and holing me up. I thank you from the bottom of my heart, dear Julie!

Hello Julie!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet is that! I've never tried anything like that ...I think it' something I could have a lot of fun with. Next day I'm stuck inside I think I'm going to go through my scrap-booking things and see what I have. Maybe that will spur me on and get me motivated to start again. For the time being..I'm outside while the warm weather lasts. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Maura :)
